CCTV Videcon Aspect 8M poe-8 black screen

After increasing the CCTV (8MP) camera recording resolution and rebooting the NVR, I am presented with black screen saying 'out of range'. I guessed that the monitor was not capable of displaying the increased resolution(?). Tried a video output to monitor via RCA connector, no change. Connected HDMI output to HD screen and still black screen. The outcome is that I am unable to revert the camera resolution to the original setting nor can I reset the NVR to factory setting. Incidentally, the Aspect logo does appear briefly on screen before disappearing into the black abyss. All suggestions welcome.

Hi Seb, thanks for feedback. It was the display res that caused the problem. Accesssed NVR remotely and all fixed. Thanks for pointer.
