Cautious which soundbar to buy (if any)!

For the last eight years I've been using some beloved Logitech THX PC speakers on my various TVs using the headphone socket. These have finally died on me now unfortunately! Was thinking of getting a more modern set up, so maybe a cheap soundbar, but have heard of audio lag/lip sync problems with the optical port on my TV (Panasonic TXL32E5B). Can anybody confirm, deny, or point me in the right direction?

Alternatively, are there any sound bars that let you add a delay to sync back up with what's on-screen?
