Cambridge audio A5 amplifier rated 400watts max power consumption.

My mate said that his amp has stopped working so i said i'd have a quick look at it for him. I noticed that the two 4A 250v fuses have both been blown. So i assumed he had blown it whilst playing music over boiling the amp.

I then got two more 4A 250v fuses, installed them.... with no speakers attatched and the casing still open..... turned it on and boom, both fuses were blown again, like within 1second an ark/spark ripped through them... not seeming to do any other damage to anything else.

What am i to deduce? Probably the most cost effective way would be desirable...
    Thanks a bunch
p.s the fuses only cost £1.50
