I have looked at www.dvdplanet.com in their Coming Soon section and it does not mention that Cats & Dogs will be Full Screen.

In fact next to the Full Screen? comment it says No.

Where did you get the info from??

"Ugh, here we go again. A correction to yesterday's disc news on Cats & Dogs, due 10/16. The press release glossed over it, but Warner confirms that the upcoming Cats & Dogs SE will be pan & scan only. Yep, here we go again.) This Another Warner"Family entertainment" special edition in full frame. Check that one off the "To Buy" list...what is Warner thinking!? You can contact Warner Consumer Relations at 818-954-6000 to voice your displeasure."

Oh well. It was awful anyway... too much sugar. The trailer was much more entertaining.

Pokemon 1,2 & 3 have all been pan and scanned. Why? Are children less discerning? Try telling that to my 9 year old son

However, the "Recess Movie" is presented in it correct aspect ratio. Good extra's too.

    Thank you Disney

The real question is "is it panned and scanned or is it 'unmatted'?". One is definitely not as bad as the other. You'd be lucky to find a supplier that could tell you, though. My guess would be that it's unmatted, but you don't know unless you get it, which is something I personally wouldn't do even if it was widescreen.

You've got to remember aswell, Warners and MGM did their market research (God knows who they tested though)in the US, and came up with the results that people don't want widescreen and they don't want extras. Considering the future of TVs is wide, I find this all completely remarkable, and backward thinking. It just shows how out of touch most of the public are with the technology around them. I mean, by all means include both full and wide screen ratio's, but just fullscreen? This is Cats And Dogs, not Kubrick (which is another can of worms aswell).

    More than likely unmatted.

Our American friends do not seem to favour 16 x 9 TV's and still seem to stick with large 4:3 setups. Very bizarre.

Yeah, at which point Warners will re-release it at a widescreen disc and rack up another batch of sales. The bounders.

Seems their upcoming Lord Of The Rings disc is going to be fullframe aswell, apparently this one is definitely panned and skammed. Bummer.
