I see this will be opening at the cinema's on Friday. Not sure if I fancy this or not. Hanks is pulling me towards it yet Decaprio is putting me off it

Thank you for that squirrel god but I'm still this way and that.

It was Titanic that put me off him and yet I thought he was good in The Man in the Iron Mask.

I actually quite fancy Catch me if you can despite the fact I'm not hugely keen on either Hanks or Dicaprio... although I didn't realise it was light-hearted until I saw the trailer or found out what it was called, thought it would be quite a dark cat and mouse crime flick.

This doesnt appeal to me at all. May have done if like you say it was quite a dark cat and mouse crime flick. But Tom hanks running around benny hill style after dicaprio doesnt appeal :p

DiCaprio was brilliant in Gangs of New York even though the film was a bit cack. Initially the trailers for Catch Me If You Can didn't grab me at all, but having heard that it is based on a true story i think it may well be worth going to watch. Still not seen Lord Of The Rings or the Two Towers yet though so i have some catching up to do

Well if you haven't seen either of the LOTR's yet then you might as well waiting until they have released all 3 on DVD.

Unless you've got a top notch system I would definitely make the time to go to the cinema to see them. Smaller screens will just not do the films justice.

I shall probably wait until Catch Me If You Can comes out on DVD :)

There was something about it on last night, BBC1 I think. They had the bloke the story is based on telling his story and Speilberg, Hanks and Dicaprio explaining how they made it work. I'm probably gonna watch it, it looks like it could be quite good, and I like Hanks/Spielberg's past work.

The words “wide” and “berth” spring to mind. DiCaprio and Hanks are always served with large portions of cheese.

I have seen this film I really didn`t know what to make of it as I am no DiCaprio fan and after the dissapointing Gangs of New York and the silly accent I liked him even less ,
    BUT
I must say this is an excellent story and he fits the bill perfectly .
In GoNY he played a hard man looking about 13 but in this he is supposed to be 17 and hes very good .

Tom Hanks is his usual excellent self really showing how versatile he is after Road to Perdition .

Its a great story based on true events and suprising funny .

I totally recommend this film a great couple of hours with a couple of great performances by Christopher Walken as DiCaprios Dad and Martin Sheen as an old fashion Lawyer .

I've already seen this and it's great. Highly recommended. DiCaprio is an awesome young actor. Pairing him with the greatness of Hanks and the skill of Spielberg was sheer genius in my book :).

I think I'll get the screener and make my mind up about it that way. At least I'll not be throwing my money away at Warner Village if it's crap.

Didn't think much to DiCaprio in GONY (he was acted off the screen by Day Lewis), but he's not bad in Catch me if you can. I thought the film was rather good and quite fun really. If you don't catch it at the cinema I can recommend that you do see it on it's DVD release. That's what I did ;)

After seeing "Gangs of New York", I had my doubts about Leonardo DiCaprio's presence in this movie, but he's actually really good - This is more the Leonardo of "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" or "This Boy's Life", than the rather irritating, "Titanic"/"The Beach" persona which he sometimes adopts.

Hanks is really good, too, but you come away from the film wanting to know more about his character - Obviously, the movie's about Frank Abergnale Jnr., but the dogged FBI guy that Hanks plays is at least as interesting as his quarry.

It might go without saying that Spielberg manages to keep athe plot rolling along speedily, and with great verve, but I was surprised that, in parts, this movie is less than the light-hearted romp you would expect from seeing the trailer: There are moments of genuine darkness here, particularly in the scenes between DiCaprio and Walken. The movie's often surprisingly moving.

And the surround sound, whilst subtle, is quite fun, too.
