As i have sold my Tannoy mx series speakers i have been looking around for replacements and quite fancy the above mentioned ones.
Would these be a good choice for the money circa £1300 to be partnered with a yamaha rxv 630?

Room size is 4.2m x 4m and used mostly for watching movies.

If anyone can suggest anything else please feel free.

I used to have a full Castle set-up - Howard's II, Keep and Richmond 3's - it was an excellent package. Since then I have upgraded to Martin Logan.
However, I kept my Richmond's and now use them as my fronts for the bedroom.

So, I agree, £1300 for that set-up would be money well spent.

    Thanks for the replies folks.

You know you'll change the amp sometime anyway.
It'll sound great now, and even better when you upgrade!!
And anyway IMHO nothing does justice to Castle speakers.

Spoke to a couple of dealers today and one of them said that i would be better off with the Bastion as my centre as opposed to the keep 2.

Oh and offered them to me at an even better price:smashin:

That I believe is not true - it is so important to have the front three speakers matching - you can get away with the rears being different, however I would argue that you would be better keeping all speakers the same.

Having the front three the same ensures tonally that there is no difference. You should ask your dealer why they suggested that to you - maybe they have a batch of them to sell....

I believe it's probably because the bastion centre has the same tweeter as the Stirling unlike the Keep 2.
FYI, I'm using 2 pairs of Richmond 3's, a Keep2 and the sub from the compact range and I'm well chuffed!! :D

I have been running Castle Harlech's, Keep, and 2 sets of Isis (don't thinkm you can get these anymore) as Rear and effects for a while now.

    Have got no complaints.

Partnered them with a Rel Q150E
