tried to gently peel the oval "play on ps3" etc label from the front. Once I started I had to carry on. Annoyingly it's really stuck to the matt cover. Lot's of sticky still there and I don't want to use a solvent as it would soack into the case.
The normally reliable baby wipe faile me:-(

Damn annoying labdl, why isn't it on the outside of the cellophane?

Try nail varnish remover, that's what I use for those stupid PS3 stickers you find on nearly every BR case.

I have the Australian issue so I'm not sure where the label you're referring to is. If its on a standard plastic case, not a cardboard slipcase, isopropyl alcohol should shift it. Available in small bottles at hifi shops or big bottles at chemists

I always try to remove them from caes and they never come off properly. I remember reading in the tips in the back of nuts magazine to use talcum powder. Dont know how that would work though:D

You want to hear something annoying? There are later copies out there, without the blue sticker...

Thats what I use probably the gentlest of solvents, also I have used lighter fuel as well which also OK but a bit stonger.

I just got a disc myself with oval slicker on the case, it came of ok with no residue just where its come of the plastic is raised :(

The UK case is cardboard, so using any liquid for removal is a tad iffy.

I always use the sticker that I just removed, if you gently dab it over the residue on the case it usually take it right off.

Agreed, but unlike the security labels on US discs, this is a single blue sticker on the front of the case, a cardboard case which has a suede effect to it. I just left mine alone, but I understand the OP's frustration.

Had that exact same problem! Got half way and thought 'this aint working'!

Took the rest of and tried to scrape the remaining glue residue off but it's bloody card! Anyway took it back to the store and exchanged for another copy without said sticker!

I usually get some Meths or White spirit on stickers but for that I stayed well clear!
    ;)
