ive come home to destroyed stylus on my Nottingham analogue. im unsure where to go with the new cartridge im looking at a ortofon 2m blue /bronze or a goldring 1012/1042.
ive got croft amps with built in phono stage.

which make do you guys think will compliment the equipment best. closest shop that stocks both is a 100mile round trip

Sorry to hear about the cart - what happened?

Is is the stylus that is damaged of the whole cart?

What did you have before and what did you like about it?

I would take this opportunity to change the brand and experiment a little within your budget, which is about £180 - 300. But considering the quality of you TT I would look at carts towards the top end of that budget.

(The higher up you go in the range of carts within a given make - the better the stylus shape and mounting)

You can get almost any cart online and they packaged in fairly indestructible hard perspex capsules so they are safe. Here are a couple of examples of what I mean:

I have bought mine from Japan and they have arrived in perfect condition.

Every make of cart sounds different, and there is definitely a 'house' sound.
