I just bought a card reader which is great

however, when booting up my computer - sometimes it stalls as its trying to boot from the card reader

how do i change this - i scared to go into bios! (have seen someone do it before but didnt want to risk it myself!)

    You have 2 options:

    1. take the plung and go into BIOS. Its not that scary in there. Just go in and look for boot order and change it to not look for external drives. If in doubt about any changes you can just exit and not save the changes.

    2. unplug the card reader when not in use.

If it's a USB device, then win 2000 should recognise it when you plug it back in so option 2 provided by Mark is a goody
