Can someone please help me through the large range of cards available -
check that the assumptions i've made are correct and offer a solution?

I don't game and i don't want an expensive card - say up to £50.

    Features i require

    1. PCI-E x16

    2. Full screen video mirror (TV plays full screen when you open a movie on the PC)
This rules out nVidia from 8000 series onwards.

    3. H Def capability - not necessarily HDMI
This means HDCP capable - i think(?) - and rules out nvidia up to and including 7000 series - i think(?)

    4. Silent operation (passive cooling)

So if i've got it right, i need an ATI card - perhaps an HD2400 or HD2600?

    Any particular recommendations?

    Thanks

    3450?

Have nvidia removed clone mode from their drivers for the 8 series?

The 3450 is the update for the 2400 and has the UVD engine (HD Decoding assistance) of the 2600 with less power consumption.
