    Hi Chris

I have no experience of the Vogue screen but I did buy a Carada 80inch Criterion screen a few months ago. The frame on it is awesome looks the business on the wall and really does a great job of hiding all overscan.

The material attaches with studs and poppers very easily, resulting in a perfectly flat screen. No more ripples like my manual pull down used to have.

Can't advise on which is best, because I don't know but the fixings on the Carada do their job wiith no problems at all.

Hope this has been of some help to you Chris.

    Hi Chris

I have just received my screen from Carada and As Zag said the Frame is awesome on the Criterion version, the difference being that the frame is chamfered down to the screen the Criterion version where’s on the other version its just a box section both are covered with a black velvet type cloth,

Yes you will get customs because the guy at Carada ships to the uk via a company called Baxglobal and this company will ring you to tell you that you item is there and will ask if you want them to process it through custom which they do them selves, they will then ring you to arrange payment when they know the customs charges,

David Giles is the guy to e-mail at Carada and he will tell you what the shipping will be via your post code, He will then send you a link to his web site with your shipping option on, also I would recommend the door to door option, if you don’t it will cost you more in the long run ( another £80 :thumbsdow )

This is the one i went for link and total cost was

    Merchandise Total: $636.32
    Sub-Total: $636.32

    Local Tax: $0.00
    State/Province Tax: $0.00
    Country Tax: $0.00
    Shipping: $217.00 ( Derby UK )

Grand Total: $853.32 which worked out at approx £470 on the credit card then the customs was £100  with Baxglobal bit on top (£15) not sure what that was for

    Hope this help

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

What type of material did you go for? As I am currently looking for a screen to pair with a AE700 and have no idea what to buy.

Also how wide it the black surround?

    Cheers

    Hi GWC,

The material i went for was bright white which as a gain of 1.4, for my projector a sim2 Domino 20 the gain should be 1.3, the brighter the projector the lower the gain I think is the key, to higher gain can cause hotspot

The surround on the Carada is approx 2 inch wide on the standard screen and with the Criterion version the chamfered add another inch, This is one well made screen :D

I can't agree with you more Steve. It's one hell of a screen and was easy to assemble and fix to a wall. After considering all the other options available in the UK even with import costs the Carada screen works out very good value. A fantastic product IMHO.

Those costs posted by Steve are also virtually identical to what I paid. I also went for the Brilliant White material (1.4) which works great with my H30.

David Giles at Carada will also supply 0.8 and 1.0 gain material on its own to fit the frame should your screen gain requirement change in the future.

It was an easy choice in the end.......

    Steve, Zag,

    Thanks for the replies

I am going to e-mail them for a shipping quote. How long to they take to come once the order is placed?

I shall probably have to go for the standard one as it is being mount in a loft with sloping ceilings and I need the smallest border possable to maximise view area.

    Cheers

i am going to order a carada, but i think i will order a precision as i am mounting it in a loft so the narrower frame will be better as i can get the screen a little higher
    cheers
