    i was looking at building speakers into the wall below my plasma and covering with a grill.
    are car speakers ok to use around plasmas?

    No issues I can think of, apart from the fact they are designed to go in a car, and will most likely sound total crap in your house, unless they are major league. In which case, some real in wall speakers designed for the job will be cheaper, and still better.

    Check the impedance rating of the TV/amp first, most car stuff will be 4 Ohms and may not be suitable for domestic use (could cause audio circuit damage).
