Car alarm fitting prices

Can anybody give me a price as to how much it is to have a car alarm supplied and fitted please.

My car pretty old 8 years and only comes with an immoblizer, but as i work nights my car left on a public carpark, with not many other cars around, and only the other night i caught couple of scumbags trying to break into my car, luckily i caught them just before they did any damage.

Im not looking for anything expensive, basically something that would go off if somebody tampers with either the door or try to break the glass, and remote central locking to as mine only key central locking.

Also if anybody lives in Wigan, can they recommend a mobile fitter.

I was just about to post the same thing as i am looking at this at the moment too after just buying a new van.

It appears and i suppose its true that no-one pays much attention to alarms except yourself. It might deter the thief for a few seconds or more to the fact if he is a druggie will probably ignore it and grab whatever he can in the 10 or 20 seconds he might have. Best option maybe to remove anything nickable or hide it in the boot.

I've changed my mind and maybe having deadlocks fitted....

Good luck..

I leave nothing in my car, usually druggies will break into a car just for the off chance there loose change or a satnav, mobile left in the glovebox.

Having an alarm fitted will give me some piece of mind as i'll hear it goes off from were i work, and can be outside in a matter of seconds.

Not trying to be funny but who actually pays any attention when a car alarm goes off

If all you want is an alarm that goes off then ive used the Falcon easy fit before on a friends car...

Sniper Easy Fit Car Alarm £21.99 - in-car-stuff.com - Car Alarms & Security, Car Audio, In Car DVD & TV, Car Styling, UK and Ireland delivery

Very easy to fit and has an annoying multi tone siren so gets attention.

I have a Falcon Evo3 Pager alarm on my MR2 also, the pager has a range of upto 1000m and will beep or virbate to tell you if your car alarm has been triggered. My Evo3 also does boot pop, proximity, complete closure and remote start if needed.

Alarms are generally waste of time. As above once the car is broken into what ever was in it will probably be gone by the time you get there, but at least if you get a text based paging device you will have been alerted to a possible or actual attempt, such as the Toad Text Alert, seller is not a recommendation just a link to product.

I've just had a cat 1 alarm/immobiliser by "Safe & Sound At Pat Bell Car Radio" who are from Wigan. The guy is as weird as you like "marra", but he did a good job (with me looking over his shoulder) and at £280 was only £30 more than I paid 13 years ago to have a **** one fitted to my calibra.

to the OP, can you hear a car alarm, whilst doing your work? Even with pagers or text alerts, how long will it take you to get to the car? If this is a couple of minutes the thief will be long gone.

I'd keep the cash to pay for repairs if the worst happens because sometimes a new door and windows trims can cost a fair whack.

I know the place, it's just past the bridge onway to Aspull.
One of my pals had one fitted there about 10 years ago to his Escort that he had at the time, did a good job and never had any problems with it.
might just give him a ring and get some prices.
