Just wondering if anyone out there knows how much it would roughly cost to service and regas a car's air con. Recently ive noticed it seems to be underperforming on a long journey. After a few hrs climate control almost packs in, closing the vents and stopping blowing cold air at all.

Car is 4 yr old. Is that typical lifetime for gas ?

Where can I get this done in the newcastle/Tyne and wear area ?

Make sure they also check for leaks otherwise a regas will be a waste of time. What most decent aircon companies do is add dye to the gas and then let you run it for a day or two. The dye will show up any leaks, then they fix them and regas.
