    Hi,

    Ive got a Sony DCR-IP7 and am using Pinnacle Studio 8 to capture and edit the video - When I go to capture its obviously picking up the camera as if I have it turned of it complains.

    I say capture and let it capture some of the tape - say 5 minutes - it then finishes but nothing seems to have been captured.

    The only thing I can see thats wrong is in capture source it says;

    DV CamCorder Pinnacle 1396

    Surley the IP7 should show up as a MicroMV recorder ?

    Any ideas - going out today to take some movies and would really love to start playing with the editing function.

    thanks,

    monkey

    I don't know for sure if this is the problem but a lot of editing programmes are NOT compatible with MicroMV. I would suggest a visit to the pinnacle web site to check.

    Got it sorted - uninstalled the camera from device manager and this time it picked up the correct micromv format - now all i need is a larger, faster hdd :)
