In other thread someone said that there is no image quality difference between a 1MP camcorder and a 3MP camcorder as PAL is a set resolution.

If I upload video to my PC and then capture and print a still image, will I notice the quality then or do you only notice the difference when using the camcorder as a camera?

If you capture a still image from video recorded on a camcorder DV tape then you are only goiing to get the standard PAL resolution of 576 lines. If however you capture a still image to a memory card on the camcorder then the resolution will be as high as the CCD is capable of.
