Hi, Im looking at a way of capturing Live & recorded content from my SkyHD box to my PC.
I can already do this in SD using the composite connection on the back of the box & the analog capture card I have in my PC, However Im looking at capturing in HD to get the maximum quality.
I've seen some PC cards with HDMI input's on them & although the Sky box only had 1 HDMI output on it I've heard you can use a splitter cable to output to 2 devices.
The thing which I want to know about is would this work or would the HDCP encryption prevent the PC card from been able to record the feed?
If this would be prevented is there any way round this, A HDMI to component cable or something similar?
Reason I want to do the capturing is that im a big MotorSports fan & have been keeping an archive of the broadcast's from various series for my own use since the early 80s & would like to continue doing this when F1 moves to Sky next season.
