capturing audio from stb

    hi,i,m capturing audio from didital out on box to digital in on soundcard,it seem,s to be wav,i thoght freeview uses mp3 at 192kb,is it wav or what,and how can i check the bit rate,cheers,pat

    Not sure but I would have thought a digital broadcast would be using mpeg2 audio (mp2). Your capture device/software would then be grabbing the data stream and saving it in the format it is set up for be it wav, mp3 or other codec.

    Can't help with the desire to see the broadcast bitrates of the Freeview audio, I suppose it would be easier with a Freeview PC card rather than a external stb.
