Capricorn One was the first film I saw (or heard, to be more pedantic) in stereo. Can anyone tell me why, the UK release is in mono, and/or what sound format is the Reg 1 issue?

Sound on region 1 version Dolby Digital 5.1. The picture is widescreen 2.35:1 as opposed to the region 2 full screen. It has trailers, cast information and production notes. Not the fullest disc ever but a lot better than the region 2.

Thank for the information Wicky1. Is the film anamorphic or have you to zoom it up top and bottom, also is it a good transfer.
Thanks in advance for further info.

The transfer is what you'd expect. It is not anamorphic but very good and clean. I think they have used the same tranfer and soundtrack from the pioneer special edition laserdisc from a few years ago.
