    Ah well, here goes, an entry from a complete novice.

    This was taken earlier this year at Cape Point in South Africa with a borrowed Sony F505. I've only adjusted the file size to make it fit to the competition rules - I don't know how to do much else at the moment :)

    I think it is ok to have this as an embedded image, but if I need to change it so that it becomes attached and shown as a thumbnail, just let me know.

    I was trying to capture the calmness of the foreground against the crashing waves a little further out at sea - I kept missing the really big waves breaking against the rock and throwing up plumes of spray!

    Cool :)

    That's a great shot. You've captured the power of the sea there nicely. I've never been to South Africa so i was suprised to see how much like cornwall that beach looks!

    LOL! There are plenty of stunning sandy beaches in SA aswell, it's a shame that we're only allowed one entry, it took me ages to decide on which one to submit.
