I've just obtained a capacitor and have been reading that they need charging before installation. Fair enough, I have charged it to make sure it works and it does, but it immediately began discharging itself. I have been told this is normal behaviour as it is not a battery - fair enough again, even I can understand all this! However, if it needs charging before installation/use what would happen if I went on holiday for a week, surely the cap would lose all it's charge in that time!? Or even overnight??? I know I don't need to charge it before every use so why do I even need to charge it at all!? Won't the cars electrical system do this when it's wired up or is that a bad thing?!? Oh, the cap is a Lightning Audio Strike Monitor 1.0 if it makes a difference.
