Anyone have any comments on this system?

Thinking of getting a set along with a Yamaha 650 amp.

Seen the speakers for £300 on www.microdirect.co.uk.

    Hi

    Thanks for the info

Found a site selling them for near enough that, shipping is 37 Euros.

    That sound reasonable?

Also, anyone had experience of these speakers?, they are very reasonably priced, i cant find a review in english anywhere

Would these be a better choice than the CD1 package bearing in mind that i will be mainly watching dvds?

    Mornin'

The Canton CD1 movie package is better than the 6.1MX as the drivers are not Aluminium where as they are in the CD1 package, they don't have the same handling power as the CD10 (CD1 satalite) and the casing isn't Aluminium either as the CD10's are. The CD10's also go down to 80Hz where as the 6.1MX go down to 120Hz which isn't dramitically different from the CD10's but it does make the difference between good and bad sound, as a sub playing up to 120Hz, to merge with the satilites, will sound terrible. Where 80Hz is the normal crossover point as Bass starts to get directional at around 80-90Hz.

They are still great sounding speakers for the money but the CD10's are more musical and the CD1 package is a better allrounder.

    Hope this helps.

    Thankyou for a detailed response.

I am now looking at getting the CD1 package from Germany (great prices), but they only do the 5.1 system. What canton speaker do i need to add to it to make it a 6.1 setup?

    Mornin'

Yep, definately get a CD50 and use that as your main center, then use the center that comes with the CD1 package as your rear center.

That will be a cracking system.

    Regards
