    Hi all,
so, i need a tv unit preferably with a vertical stand at the back so i can mount the 47" tv and alter the height so i can place my MA Vector AV centre on the shelf underneath it. Also good for cable management.
Now it either needs to be wide enough to also have the fronts on the same shelf as the centre or i can mount them onto separate stands on either side of the unit. In which case i'll need advise on best stands to mount those onto as well please.
The unit also needs to accommodate; Denon 2113 AV, Sky HD box and a BD player.

Ideally the unit would have some oak/veneer in it somewhere.

Ideas regardless of budget would be much appreciated please fellas.

    Thanks :)

oh...the mrs hates gloss black and glass, hence the oak effect requirement.

    Hi there,

Any ideas on the dimensions you'd be looking at?
Also, are you after a two shelf or three shelf unit?

All helps to narrow down the options :smashin:

EDIT: I just checked on the 'bay, with the keyword search "Cantilever TV stand" and here's one of the listings that came up on the first page AVF Chepstow Oak Cantilever TV Stand 30" 32" 37" 40" 42" 46" 47" 50" LED LCD TV | eBay

I hope this is helpful. :)

    Thanks Rottie,

    i actually need 3 shelves in total to house;

    Center speaker (MA V20)
    |
SkyHD and LG BD player (side by side if possible, but not essential)
    |
    Denon 2113

That link looks lovely, but it doesn't have enough shelves, sadly.

Also distance between shelves has to cater for the Denon which is 170mm, plus some breathing space around it/

    Hi again,

I've done a little searching via google and can't seem to find many three tier cantilever stands and most of the ones I have found are the black tubular steel designs. :(

Is it possible that you could mount your centre speaker on the cantilever support, just beneath the TV? That would free up one tier and give you a few more options.

Bad form to reply to my own post, but I've done a bit more googling and I think that finally, we've hit cantilever stand nirvana.

Check out this link - A pretty sweet looking stand, even if I say so, myself. FSL1000WENW-A: AVF Affinity » AVF Group

Dude, that looks gorgeous.................however, sadly, the mrs doesn't like walnut, and the shelf heights won't allow my Denon to fit in with any kind of airflow whatsoever.

Thinking about building myself one now. :)

    Hi again m8 :hiya:
I've just double-checked and that same stand is available in Oak, too. :)

Also, here's a link to the tech specs - The middle shelf has a clearance of 212mm, which should allow sufficient airflow for your Denon. If not, then you could always drill a few more air holes in the rear, if the cable aperture isn't big enough. :)

Good luck if you decide to go down the self-build route. :) I'd love to see some pics of the finished item.

Ahaa....you are indeed right sir, i was looking at the bottom shelf thinking that the obvious choice would be to have the heavier/bigger stuff on the bottom. Never thought that the top shelf may have more room, seems a little odd to me.
It's not available in my region though (UK) and to import would likely cost a small fortune, on top of the fact that it looks a fairly expensive unit.
I'm quite taken with the idea of self building now. I'll probably look for a crappy old cantilever unit to rip the tv bracket part from, them use nice wood for the rest.
If i do this, i'll certainly start a project thread.

Thanks for all your input rottie, very much appreciated. Cyber cookie on its way. :)

Looks like it, but way out of budget i'm afraid. :(
Not totally set on how it will be done; the tv 'may' be swivel bracket mounted to the wall with a standard cheap unit below it and floor stands for the front either side OR bracketed to the wall. Just not sure tbh.
it's a pain in the rear trying to figure out the best move.
An all-in-on unit that caters fore the centre speaker allows total flexibility to move it where i want.
    Still can't afford £299 though :(
