    Hi.

I've converted 50 tracks to MP3 using itunes and burned them onto CD from playlist, but my car stereo which does play MP3s, doesn't play them back. It works on my DVD player ok. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks for any help.

Have you checked the bit rate ? are there other files which are not mp3 on the disc as that can confuse the HU.. are they in mp3 format not something else which you dvd player may play? which HU have you got and which dvd player are you using ?

Also, they may have been burned using VBR (variable bit rate) or MP3 Pro which the car stereo may not support.

    Hi

I got a pioneer 575a dvd player and HU is a Kenwood KDC-W4527G (not JVC sorry). In itunes you have an option to convert to MP3. Used this recently to put MP3 on my mobile phone. I burned it on to CD using 192kbps. When i put the CD into my PC at work, it shows all the tracks on the CD. No other files on there.

    Have you finalized the CD?

    Hi Crocodile.

A friend mentioned to me about finalizing the disc after burning but don't know how to do this using itunes or other software.

I think itunes automatically finalizes a disc after burning as when i try to burn another track onto the disc i made earlier (the one which doesn't play on car stereo), a message pops saying this is not a blank disc.

Can't help with itunes as I've never seen it. In Roxio there is an option to finalize either the disk or the session when recording. I can only suggest that you try the disk in another device & also check that the tree structure of the disk conforms with whatever the HU requires.

The message saying disk is not blank maybe because it's not set up as a multisession. This doesn't necessarily mean that the dsik has been finalised.

If you still have the MP3 on your PC, Try using Nero and select Nero SmartStart, once this opens select the music option and then select either CD MP3 or DVD MP3.

If you use this option then the disk is Automatically finalised and ready to play in MP3 compatible devices.

Problem solved. I tried burning on a CD-R disc this time, not CD-RW. Worked just fine.

Thanks to all who posted in this thread.
