    Hi All,

Ok so long story short, trying to install an SSD on my laptop, with win7x64 and its not happening!

I simply cannot find a driver that will work, and it has no ide mode in the Bios, so i am pretty screwed!

I have what appears to be the correct driver but all i get it "no device found" once i load it.

This also happens when i use the original HDD.

Laptop is a samsung np300e5a-s01uk with an intel HM65 chipset, It is already running Win 7, i have also downloaded the floppy drivers also from intel and no go!

The only possible problem is my install disk, i downloaded the legit win7 iso (i have no disks for this, never did! and don't want the bloatware) and burned to disk with ImgBurn, it verified the data ect.

I just do not get it, they all show as incompatible! driving me insane!

    Thanks for any help!

Hi, I believe the reason your ssd drive is not recognised is because you need to set the drive to ACHI mode and not Sata in the bios setup.

Thanks for the reply, as above have tried both possible setting sto no avail.
Even with my sata HDD there is no change.
I know i need to load the chipset driver before installing windows, but it will not accept it!

Have finally got this to work, using a copy from another source!
Cannot believe the genuine download would not work.

Tried everything, really shocked at the trouble ive had!
I am experienced with OS installs and issues that can occur, but this stumps me still!
Can only assume there is something amiss with the iso.
