need some advice on this one as I can't figure it out.

HS20 pj playing from xbox as a source (waiting for 868 to arrive in stock).

When set up to the correct wide wode so that the aspect ratio is right when watching die another day, no matter what I do I cannot get the subtitles to appear on screen, and for the picture to fill the screen without the aspect ratio being screwed up.

The subtitles are simply cut in half at the edge of the lcd panel.

Obviously this isn't a big deal, but sometimes subtitles are part of the film and it is driving me mad.

People watching always ask why it happens but I simply can't get it to work both ways.

    any thoughts?

Am 95% certain the xbox is configured to output 16:9.

    thanks in advance.

    Only 95% certain? :D

OK, double check your xbox settings & ensure your HS20 is set to "full" mode.

Check what signal it's seeing too, eg. NTSC/Pal/prog scan.

Also make sure any "zom" settings are at default.

in full mode the bond circle at the beginning as well as the paraount circle of stars and the spinning globe on the other intro are all more ovular than round along with borders top and bottom which are too big for a 2.35:1 film on a 16:9 screen.

yes 95% you read correctly ;). will check when I get home to make it 100%.

How do I check what is coming in picture wise to the hs20 not seen that function, and the instructions aren't great.

Which means your Xbox is not set to 16:9

looks like it was set to letter box rather than widescreen.
