I've recently bought a Hitachi CP-S225 projector which works fine connected to a pc or a PS2. However, when I connect it to a dvd player using a s-video cable, the image comes out in black and white. I've tried two different cables and three different dvd players and the result is the same. Is there something I can do to get a dvd image in colour? Any help appreciated.

HOw did you connect PS2 and PC? Did you set the DVD player to S-video output?

The dvd's are set up for s-video connection but the image is in black and white. I've tried changing the projector and dvd settings to NTSC and then Auto but the image is more or less the same. The PS2 and pc are connected with normal audio video cables.

ok, that question got me thinking. I decided to stop using the s video cable and try and connect the dvd to the pj with audio video cables (you know, the red, white and yellow type) and, guess what? It worked. Got the picture in colour. Thanks for the inspiration. Still no idea why it wouldn't work with an s video cable when both the dvd and pj have s video inputs though...
