cant find source on tv

ok guys here is my situation i am running a 61 inch samsung dlp lcd flat screen and an onkyo 7.1 surround sound with hdmi directly to it not passthrough as of recently i have had a problem only about 1 out of every 7 or 8 times it will find the source as in my xbox 360 i have to keep turning my xbox off then restarting it till eventually it finds the source i have the same problem with my playstation 3 any reason why its doing this or any way i can fix this it is highly annoying
