Problem:
I can ping my server IP and server name. I can also access the files and folders on my laptop and on my iMac through explorer and finder. However, I cannot connect to the server through WHS connector.
I have listed everything I have tried, the list is long but to no avail.
PC Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit, 2.53GHz, 4GB RAM
iMac OSX 10.5.8, 2.66GHz, 2GB RAM
Server Acer Aspire EasyStore H340 Home Server
Thanks for your help.
Error:
This computer cannot connect to your home server. Check your network connection and make sure your home server is powered on. If your home server has recently restarted, try again in a few minutes.
Solutions tried:
Reinstall WHS connector from " \\Server\Software\Home Server Connector Software"
Uninstalled successfully
Reinstalled
Asked for password
Uninstalling WHS connector
and
changed hosts file to include: 192.168.1.68 ASPIREHOME # Windows Home Server
and
Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Local Security Policy - Local Policies - Security Options
Network security: LAN Manager authentication level
Minimum session security for NTLM SSP
and
removed openDNS
and
can connect via
Start
Run
Mstsc
But certificate errors
Then errors in RDC
And
Stopped firewall
And
Tried to install Windows Home Server Toolkit v1.1 but it is 32-Bit only.
Installed virtual XP machine but that didnt work but still couldn't install Windows Home Server Toolkit v1.1.
