    Hello guys!

I'm new in this place, but i'd like to say before proceeding, that you people have a great project in hands:smashin:

Anyway, the reason i'm posting is that i need some help connecting my SAMSUNG LCD to a specific LG DVD recorder, via HDMI cable!

The thing is, I connected other LG DVD models, and they all worked!!!
    So the conclusion was:

My DVD recorder is sending HDMI signal normaly and TV is receiving HDMI normaly.
But together, these two won't work!

Instead of video signal, the screen shows a message saying: NOT AVAIABLE or UNABLE TO... or something like that!!!

I really don't want to spent money on another dvd set so i need to find a way to get them working together through HDMI!:(

    The models are:
    LCD SAMSUNG LE40N87BD
    DVD RECORDER LG RH199HS

    Thanks

I would try and connect via SCART first and access the DVD menu to ensure HDMI is setup correctly. Sometimes, the HDMI connection isn't 'active' until you select it in the video menu setup.

    HI!

There is no HDMI switch, neither a resolution selector in the DVD menu!!
    ...you see?
In fact, i connected the dvd via HDMI to other Lcd's and it worked!!!
And also connected the Lcd to other Dvd's and they worked just fine!!!
I just can't have those models working together.

I can't believe my Lcd won't accept this specific Dvd, for its resolution output...:lease:

How many HDMI have you got?

I found that when I plugged my media centre into mine it would only work on HDMI3 properly for me.

I have 3 HDMI on my LCD but every single one shows the same message "not available"

i've been down to every kind of hdmi possible connection! Everything works fine except when i get those two together...

I think its some kind of firmware incompability
(maybe nonsense but, what can you do??)

I think you are missing something.

A brief read of the manuals for your two products reveal the following :

The TV does not support 576i signals over HDMI

Your DVD player does have a function to select the output resolution, on page 12 of your manual there is the following :

    Tip :
When you use HDMI connection, you can change the
    resolution (576i, 576p, 720p, or 1080i) for the HDMI
    output using RESOLUTION button.

I suspect your DVD player is set to 576i so change it to any of the other resolutions and it should work.
