Thanks for the quick reply.
Can you advise how to do your recommendations??
Thanks
You will have to work through things methodically.
The basics:
Make sure your Acer is getting a good signal from the Sky router.
If you have enabled encryption in the router, make sure the settings in the Acer's wireless utility match exactly.
Go to the router's settings page in your main computer's browser (192.168.0.1) user: admin password: sky
Check:
SSID
encryption strength WEP, WAP etc.
encryption password
channel number
ensure wireless access point is enabled in the router settings
ensure allow broadcast of name (SSID) is enabled
When you connect wirelessly, the recieving equipment must first identify the correct wireless access point. You could have any number of WAP's around you in urban areas. The Acer's wireless utility should have a control panel where you can view the available WAP's.
The Sky router's default SSID (name) is 'wireless'
You can change this to something more easily identifiable if you wish.
Make sure the region is set to 'Europe' and leave the channel as it is for now. (you can change it if you find a nearby WAP is on the same channel which could cause interference)
Apply any changes you have made.
Try and connect wirelessly via your Acer with the wireless utilty open to the connection or similar page. Check that all settings match the Sky router.
Good luck.
