I have just changed my modem to allow xbox live play and have gone from a netgear dm602 to a BT Voyager 210.
It works much better for the Xbox, however I can no longer get my hotmail or yahoo email.
The BT Voyager is set to no NAT and not IP Filtering.
I also have a Linksys router but that is just being used for the home network and not to filter anything.,
