Canon powershot A80 & A85 difference?

    Despite the numbering the A80 is generally conceived to be the better camera.

    The only real difference is that the A80 has a smaller screen than the 85 but the screen does swivel on the 80 which can be handy. The only other major difference is how tricky it is to get hold of an A80 now :)

    Actually the A85 has a much smaller sensor which generates more noise in higher ISO pictures.

    It also lacks the flip LCD which is more helpful than you would imagine.

    The natural upgrade for the A80 is the new A95

    The A85 is not the upgrade for the A80 so please don't be misled, its actually the upgrade from the A75 and lacks not only some of the features like custom modes but also has already stated generates more noise in the higher ISO speed pictures.

    So in MO I'd go for the A80 if you can find one (some good deals can be had at the mo) or the A95 if you don't mind spending the extra.
