canon mv850i problem

i got a canon mv850i today, i connected my bullet cam to it and turned av on. and here is my problem, i pressed record and nothing happened. any ideas as to where i am going wrong please.

you need to be in VCR mode not camera mode.

As Roy says you need to have the camera in VCR mode. The button you need is the Cardmix/Recpause/slide show button located in the recess where the screen folds in and then the play and stop buttons you would normally use for replaying recorded tape. See from page 77 in your manual to explain the connection and set up.
