    Hi everyone.
I have the above projector running from a DVD player.

    1. Is this a badged projector made by someone else?

    2. Last night the projector died.

We have had the projector around 18 months.
It has done about 50 hours of use. Just getting home cinema set up properly. lol
It died after being on for 1.5 hours
The unit just lost the screen, no noises.
    Lamp indicator is on (red).
No other lights are on such as lamp failure.
    No fans are going.
Have tried the reset button , nothing happens.

Have had a tentative look inside after removing top cover.
No bits look frazzled, although I couldnt get to the power supply on this visit.
    The projector lamp looks fine.

    Any suggestion or help appreciated.

I realise that it most probably needs a visit to the expert.
I dont like the look of some of the costs, ie. lots of money to tell me whats wrong
Any recommended repairers in the UK appreciated.
I have a little knowledge of electronics and can wield a soldering iron.

    Colin

If the lamp indicator is on red then I suspect that the bulb is indeed kaput.

What does your manual say about the red indicator being on...

If it is the bulb then then you might need to think about upgrading rather then getting a new bulb.

    Hi CyberHeater
    Tx for the quick reply
I was just looking at the Benq you recommend :)

Re lamp indicator. I'm not sure whether its supposed to be red it doesnt say so in the manual what colour it should be.

There is a ready indicator light that does NOT light up.
There is a lamp replace indicator that does NOT light up.

We have a piece of paper that entitles us to a free bulb from the people we bought the projector from.

Perhaps a 1st port of call?
