I am thinking about getting the above Canon camera from amazon.co.uk. I am a bit new at this so don't know what type of memory cards I should buy for it.

There is a Viking 256MB Compact Flash for £50. Is this compatible with the camera? Are they any good? Why does Dixons sell camera memory where it costs about £90 for 128mb? Is this the same type of memory?

    Thanks,

    Jon

These cards are exactly the same except for the make (and of course the price! :D ) and like most things that Dixons sell, it is a lot more expensive
Some makes do tend to be cheaper, but this can sometimes be down to the guarentee that is offered (1 year, 2 year etc.).

er not quite - there is a difference in performance between makes although whether or not that makes a practical difference also depends on which camera is used. Check here for more info
