Canon i-SENSYS LBP5000 - Throw-away!

This morning I received my CPC catalogue and they are selling the Canon i-SENSYS LBP5000 colour laser printer for £110! The last time I looked at colour lasers they were £5,000 a piece. Anyway, I digress.

I had a look at the cost of the toner for the printer and here are the prices:
Black - £43.77
Cyan - £52.09
Magenta - £52.09
Yellow - £52.09

Giving a grand total of £200.04 (excluding delivery). Therefore, apart from waste, why bother buying toner when you could just keep on buying a new printer every time the supplied toner cartridges run out?

You'd be saving yourself £90.04 - almost the price of a new printer!

I know this is only one example and it's the same with ink jets too.

Absolutely right. And what's more they aren't starter cartridges that come with it either. So it's really doesn't make sense to buy new toners.
