I have bought a Canon G5 and it is ACE!! but one concern is that the lens when retracted is quite wobbly. When the lens is extended for shooting it is not quite as bad but there is a little play in it.

Does anyone own a G5 and is theirs the same as mine in this respect. Comments would be welcome

    thanks all

I have a G5 - never noticed lens moving about when retracted as lens cap on - but after inspection mine does this also!

    Don't think its a problem!

    Cheers

I've got a G5 as well but my lens doesn't wobble.
Is the bayonet fixing for the add on telephoto/wide attachments latched correctly?
Try taking it off & putting it on again.

    Cheers, Paul

Paul - I checked for "lens-wobbliness" by actually removing the bayonet surround - its not this surround that is a bit loose but the lens itself within the mounting and the surround.

    - I think this is normal because it has to be a bit loose to allow it to extend when switched on?

    Cheers
