Has anyone updated their firmware on the Canon Legria HF200 to use the class 10 sdhc cards? Canon gave me two centres to send it but it would mean sending through the post, which I am reluctant to do.

I am in Nottingham. Could some other firm or repair centre preferably in the East Midlands do the update? Thanks Jim.

I have the same (Canon HF200) and looked into this a couple of years ago. There was talk of a firmware update but it was more bother than it was worth and I decided to just use C4 or C6 cards. Class 10 works OK (AFAIK) but throws up an error message because the firmware does not recognise the speed. There is no difference in picture quality anyway, the only advantage is in the transfer rate of the SD card to a PC.

Thanks for the reply. Canon have the update now for the camera, but the downside is sending it in for it to be flashed, where most other appliances can be done over the internet. It may be as you say, just get a lower class card.
