I finally picked up my EOS 20D on Thursday night.

Only tinkering at the moment.

My old CF Card reader did not seem to like my new 2GB card so a new multi card reader is on order. In the meantime I am getting the images off the 20D using the USB cable. The issue I am having is that I cannot see any of the RAW files, only the JPEGs? I can see the image on the camera LCD. I have got Communication set to Normal.

Any advice please?

Ian.

Cheers, I will chase up my card reader.

Hello Ian,

What software are you using to browse the folder?

Windows wont show the RAW files, if you are just browsing the folder as you would normally with a folder of jpegs.

( there is a tweak/add on for XP though I think)

I use breezebrowser myself, my favourte :)

Mark.

Try using the Canon capture software, that will grab them ok.

This might sound like I'm insulting your intelligence, but, have you set the image quality to raw?

Also, as has already been said, use the Canon software to download the raw files - the Windows XP image download wizard only recognises JPEG images.

I had the same problem and it was solved by using a card reader.

We have a winner!

The answer was the card reader. Got my card reader today, and now everything is ticketyboo. :D Even WinXP Home SP2 can see the RAW files.

Thanks to everyone.

Going to post my first quickie in the Critique Corner, please be fair but gentle. :lease:

Ian.
