If I'm calculating things correctly then it looks like you can get a 40D now from Jessops for £718.85

    Normal Jessops price is £786.95
Use voucher webex24 for £37.95 discount making it £749
Then if you go through quidco you get 5% off right? which would make it £718.85 and you can collect from instore.

I am very very very tempted to go with this. £720 would be a very good price and from a high street shop aswell

Jessops also have a voucher that would give you £25 off (WEEK-END) but you can't seem to be able to use it aswell as webex24 which is a shame.

[EDIT]Some people say the quidco doesn't count unless you don't collect from instore. Even then its a bit unknown as to if it works on DSLR's anyway.[/EDIT]

Have done. Collect in store from 4.34pm....

I'm going to print out the page with their £25 weekend money off beacuse no where does it say that it can't be used in conjunction with any other offer.

I got webex24 from camera price buster. i've not been able to find out anything at all about it I'm afraid. You just pop it in the voucher code box in your basket. No idea when it will finish.

i thought quidco specifically excludes DSLRs from the jessops cashback? And doesn't let you collect in store either?

Its not clear from the quidco site if the Exlcuses DSLR's applies to the cashback or just to the extra quidco vouchers that are listed.

If it does include DSLR's then I'll go for the jessops offer if not I'll go for play.com which is 4 or 2% cashback.

ally I think when you get quidco money from the likes of jessops, play etc it's the price excluding vat - not 100% sure if it's the same for jessops but thats how it was for me when i've used quidco for play and elsewhere before. Also I don't think it includes the pickup from store option because don't you pay when you go in store hence quidco won't know if it's been purchased or not.

i know they've stopped the free 3 years warranty but when i was in drooling over it the other week I was offered it as an incentive to buy it plus 300 prints so it's worth haggling instore

your photos are :smashin: with the 400D so I can't wait to see some from you with the 40D

you students have too much money ;)

hope you like your new toys (i'll post your lens on monday by the way)

Thanks bubble. I've spent waaaaaaaayyyyyy to much on camera equiptment this month :(

If I don't get Quidco I'm going to kick up a fuss with them as there's nothing that says I can't collect @ store. I'm not too bothered anyway as I'm trying to get a job at the local Jessops so another chance to speak to the guys, get my face known to the manager etc will only help as they say they've got a pile of CV's to look through. (you've got to speculate to accumulate :D)

I spoke to the guy about their weekend offer of £25 off aswell and pointed out that nowhere does it say that it can't be used in conjunction with any other offer. He's going to phone up HQ about it so I might still get another £25 off

My battery is now charged (it's a monster - twice the size of the 400d's!) and I've been having a play. Everything is just much more refined and grown up the the 400D and it fits much much better in the hand.

I'm now going to see if I can use the 430ex with ETTL on the hot shoe and fire a wirless flash via my radio trigger plugged in the PC sync at the same time as that was something that I'd always wanted to be able to do on my 400D but obviously it has no PC chord.

Now I need to buy myself a new remote and a couple of spare batteries!!

£749 from play - 2% or 4% would be approaching £720, but again thats mail order.

I paid £799 for mine from a local store - I get it straight away plus returns are easier if I have any problems.

Slightly. *phew* That's put me off for a few more days, at least.

But, I know it's only a matter of time until I succumb to the 40D... :D

Well after feeling a tad annoyed I hadn't waited until the cashback (but then how would I have known there was to be any anyway...) I checked my quidco account and noticed that they have tracked £31.87 from Jessops  I'm a bit of a novice at quidco but that sounds like I'll be getting my money eh?

Now all I need to do is prevent myself from trading my 70-300 IS for a 70-200 F4L IS. £500ish is a very tempting prospect!! Would only be about £200 once I'd sold my 70-300...

It's looking good then, normally you only get money from transactions soley completed online. However, just beacuse it says it's tracked it doesn't mean you'll get the money. What you need to happen now is for it to say validated in your account and that will definately mean you'll get the money. This can take up to 3 months  and looking at jessops they have a slow payment speed rating

I believe so which i'm sure will tempt people. I notice Devon Camera have the 40D in at £729.99, before long it's bound to be sub £700 even without the cashback

    Hi,

I've just ordered the 40d from Jessops using the webex24 code and done collection from store, however, it still has not tracked in quidco.

I don't want to collect the camera until it tracks in quidco as i want the discount.

    749 - 31.87 Quidco - 50 Cashback = £667.13 would be excellent!

Also, where you get 5% Jessops using Quidco, it says 3% :-S

"For genuine tracked transactions completed wholly online, you can earn:
3% for sale amount excluding VAT "

To Confirm, you 'can' do collect at store and quidco.

Mine just tracked after i cancelled the order. :'-(

I will wait and reorder it tomorrow for home delivery.

since i have ants in my pants, i reodered it.

Quidco have also validated it :)

    03 Oct 2007 16:23:37 Jessops 637.44 31.87 validated ~ Jan 2008

Thefore the 40d camera works out to:

    Camera Price £775.99 - £26.99 using 'webex24' code - £31.87 Tracked through Quidco - £50 Canon Cashback Promotion = £667.13 :clap::hiya:

    Well happy! :smashin:

I've done the same thing - ordered saturday and picked it up in the shop within the hour. I was a bit worried that the tracking was showing though, but it's appeared in my tracking today - phew!

Interesting... I've been trying (honest!) to talk myself out of buying a 40D, and this isn't helping... :D

    Cheers. :smashin:
