I have a Panasonic TX-50EX750B
My problem is it seems only 1 hdmi slot (hdmi 2)
Is enabled for HDR content but the (hdmi 2 slot is also the Arc connection,
So when i play my PS5 through that 2nd hdmi slot i get HDR , labelled in the top corner
When i try it in the other HDMI slots i do not get any HDR (no HDR on screen notification and i can clearly see the diference)
The problem is i have just bought a sonos beam 2 that connects via the ARC hdmi (i do not have E ARC)
but it means i have to remove the ps5 hdmi from hdmi 2 slot which is the arc slot meaning i lose HDR on the PS5
I currently have to connect the sonis to optical on tv thus resorting it to stereo only and no dolby atmos,
I have tried settings on tv and it seems only the 2nd hdmi slot Which is arc also is the only hdmi slot can take HDR
Below are two photos
PS5 through HDMi 2 slot (arc)
And the other photo is the display i get when its in any of the other hdmi slots
Is there any work around to getting the ps5 and sonos beam to connect to arc i understand a splitter wont work?
Is it just my tv is too old? I just want my ps5 playing in HDR and my sonos playing sound better than standard stereo
Thanks in advance for your time

You can install the HDFury Arcana and connect the PS5 Direct to the Arcana then HDR to the TV and Atmos to the SONOS plus route TV ARC to the SONOS.

Joe

PS Have you confirmed you cannot enable HDR on any of the other Inputs on the TV? Many TV’s require you to enable HDR ‘or full’ on some Inputs.

The manual isn’t too clear

Page 18 says to watch 4K HDR use HDMI 1 or 2. There is then a bit about an auto setting that isn’t clear if it is any input. It is the one above the HDMI setting in your picture.

Page 30 says all 4 HDMI have the “same” video capabilities - but HDR itself maybe not.

If you use ARC (HDMI2) then it does seem you lose one of only 2 HDR supported inputs.

Thank you that makes sense as all 4 HdMI porys definitely do not do HDR
Having 1 HDR port alongside the arc port would do me but ive tried HDMI 1 and that wont do HDR unless im missing a setting somewhere to turn it on maybe il have to contact panasonic
Thank you

Panasonic usually do have ‘per input’ settings - I would power the system fully Off at the wall, connect the HDR capable Source to the second HDR capable input then repower and go through the settings on the Source and Display.

Well as I posted the manual is "clear" that HDMI 1 does HDR so try Joe's suggrdtion first :)

Ok this is where things get strange,
After plugging ps5 hdmi into HDMi slot 1 on TV and going to ps5 settings it tells me HDR is Supported but not 4k HDR (picture 1 attached shows ps5 in hdmi 1 slot with screen display comfirming ps5 is playing in HDR but 1080p

I swap ps5 back to HDMi 2 slot (arc slot)
And tv display comfirms im now playing in HDR but in 4K
Any ideas?
Thanks

In hdmi port 1 plays in HDR but only 1080p
Hdmi port 2 plays in HDR in 4k but its the arc slot which i need to plug in my sonos

Thank you to everyone who commented i have sorted it now in the setup menu for hdmi
There is a option for mode 1 or mode 2 in each HdMi with no explanation what it does
I switched HDMI port 1 to mode 2 and its now showing in pic below playing in hdmi 1 port as 4k HDR
Many thanks to everyone who took the time to respond

There is a short explanation there on page 18.

Anyway - good you got it sorted.
