With TVs such as the Pioneer XDEs or Sony MRX1s, I was wondering about the following:

    1) Generally - what signals are carried from media box to panel?
    2) Can you interchange media boxes, eg use a media box from an old Pioneer 503 with a new 505?
    3) Can you ditch the media box altogether and use a scaler instead?

    Many thanks.

it is manufacturer specific and most use native DVi or RGBHV feeds to panel. the biggest issue is removing box knackers the remote control..... some can be swapped around but are rare......
You can bypass the media box on some screens but cant scrap the media box as you need to use it for control.
