I am a bit peaved that they have increased the price.. After all, it a 11% seems a bit unjustified..

I wondered that as this is only an MRRP, whether anyone is still doing it at the old 899 price tag?

Apologies for duplicating my thoughts here at the bottom of a much bigger thread.

There has been a price rise - thats life I figure.

However, people are paying post increase prices for DV88's with old firmware which implies strongly they are old stock bought by the dealer before the price rise.

I am strongly considering buying a DV88, I have a mottley collection of old british hifi including an Arcam CD player and have some brand loyalty but I refuse to be taken for a ride by a dealer such as the one mentioned in another message.

Has anybody bagged one at the pre-increase price?
I have no problem whatsoever with it having the 'old' firmware for obvious reasons.

    Cheers

    George

I am a bit peaved by this.. I have been tempted to buy one for months.. But reading about the problems, I didn't feel that I wanted to spend 900 quid on a play with so many problems.

I thought that I would be best to wait to see if Arcam actually delivered a solution.

It seems that they did, but also added on an extra 11% to the price....

I don't feel that its fair that they increased the price by so much, for no apparant reason..

Does anyone know the reason why the increased the price?

    Thanks Confucius,

Those 2 links still show the DV88 at 899...

The problem is that I am still not sure that I am going to get one.. If I wait, I am sure that their prices will go up to 999..

    Decisions Decisions..
