I was woundering if there was any setting that I couldn't find that sets the RGB output of the Sky+ Pace 3100 box to PAL progressive rather than interlaced?

    Thanks,

Can't do progressive through a SCART connection. Need at least component for that. You'll have to wait for the next generation of boxes to come out for the promised HDTV service :)

Progressive is possible over scart. Scart carries R, G, B, and sync. Component is just R, G, B with sync on G.

However, its not supported by SKY boxes.

I feed my SKY+ into a PC that then turns it into progressive.

Or you could by an external scaler, feed the S video into it and it will output PS...I have one for sale in the classifieds, but it won't output it to Pal progressive - it'll convert it to NTSC PS (480p) or SVGA.

or you could take the RGB output and feed that in to a PC, or if you really want the best take the digital video direct from the box via SDI ..

Component is not RGsB (RGB sync on G) it's YPbPr (luminance, difference in blue, difference in red) and is totally different colourspace.

External scalers such as DVDO iScan range (http://www.dvdo.com) and Lumagen can produce PAL progressive scan from Sky's RGBS output; a decent quality scaler can really improve the picture.

Check out the progressive scan formum.
