Can you remove the News 24 red dot from Sony VTX-D800

Is anyone able to tell me if I am able to remove the active red dot from the top right of News 24 on my Sony VTX-D800?

Nope afraid not. Permanant on News24.

I haven't watched News24 for a while, primarily due the risk of plasma burn-in from the permanent red box come clock in the bottom lh corner of the screen. However, I thought that you could get rid of the red blob by pressing the green button on your STB's handset.

I'll give it a go when I get a moment, out of curiosity.
