Question Can you recommend me a sub please?

Hi

I'm looking to upgrade from a XTZ 12.17 and I'm stuck with where to look.

I'd ideally like a ported sub of similar size. This seems to be an issue with other manufacturers, as the cabinet sizes are large. So maybe a sealed one is what I need.

My spec is front firing, gloss or matt black (no black ash) , a performance better than the 12.17.

I have been pondering the SVS PB12 plus, but the cabinet is huge, so have also been looking at the SVS SB4000.

Can anyone give me some opinion here?

Thanks for any help.

Check out PSA range, they have compact sized cabinets! Only negative thing could be the finish, but owners have said they look better in flesh vs. in pictures. You could get a home demo from the used models (DF) if you can get in touch with Ricky. This would enable you to get idea before ordering new one plus you could compare the sub to XTZ.

Arendal Sub 2 slightly larger than SB4000 with dual opposite drivers:

@Gasp3621 Thank you for your reply.

I have looked at the subs you mention.

The Arendals are out due to being side firing and the clearence they need.

I'll look into more detail on the PSAs.

What one do you have?
