    hi there,

my poor old mission 753. just ordered a new tweeter from mission, excellent service.

now all i got to do is decide on one of the mids. it has a dent in it. no tears or anything, just a slight dent but enough to be seen very easily.

so, i heard a long time ago that you could use a very thin needle which has been bent, and insert into the cone and pull it out.

is this possible? or are there any other suggestions to fix this dent? the speaker plays fine you see.

Isn't it possible to just remove the back and push it back out from behind?
I take it you will be removing the back to fit the new tweeter anyway so might be worth a look.

Get some sellotape and warm it for a few seconds over a radiator or blow fire to make it really tacky.

Then gently tease it into the indentation making sure that you don't make it any worse. Give it a second or two to cool down and then pull the sellotape off the cone very slowly, pulling from the side where the dent is the least bad.

The dent should pull out with the sellotape. It might need a couple of attempts, but as long as the dent hasn't cracked the cone is generally possible.
