    Hi
The Denon 2802 is designed for a 6.1 set-up,but can you run it with a 5.1 package?.........and does it work well.

    Thanks......Paul

    Hi

You can run either 5.1 or 6.1, its up to you. The 2802 is a great receiver and works well for movies.

Paulr: I bought a Denon 2802 around 5 months ago. I ran it in 5.1 for the first two months of that and it is indeed a cracking all-rounder for the money.

I later added a rear centre to allow 6.1 and have found this to work equally as well, although it takes a little time to get used to the different rear soundstage and I've only watched about 3 films that are in the 6.1 format.

My 2802 is used solely for DVD/Sky/VCR multi-channel listening so I can't comment on it's stereo hi fi performance.
