I would like to get a Sky+ receiver to use with a FTV card. I have heard that this is possible but you have to pay the £10 per month sub to Sky to activate the recording options on the receiver.

I've been using a FTV card with a secondhand box for several years and I'm perfectly happy to buy a Sky+ box from Ebay for around £130 jsut so long as I don't have to get the Sky basic sub as well as the tenner a month.

Does anyone have any info on this?

    Yes.
It is definitely possible to just pay £10 Skyplus+ subscription.
You will definitely receive ITV, C4 and C5 too.
